It starts with avoiding cheap filler oils. These are popular oils commonly found in men’s care products and, while they each do have their benefits, are largely unsuitable for a long-term beard care product. Oils such as almond oil, hemp oil, grapeseed oil, and sunflower seed oil are all high in polyunsaturated fatty acid content. These acids are prone to oxidation when exposed to light, heat, and oxygen: all three things that your beard encounters daily. This means that your beard care products could be turning rancid as you wear them. Two other ingredients that we stay clear of are parabens, with are associated with hormone disrupters, and silicones which are not water soluble.

We understand different people have different needs, especially when it comes to scent sensitivity. Fragrances are the leading cause of eczema and irritation that leads to breadruff. Because of our commitment to healthy beard care, we do not use any synthetic fragrances and for men who have issues with fragrance we make a line of unscented products. We believe in transparent as possible with our ingredients lists, including the natural essential oils our fragrances are made from.

Furthermore, while most of our products don’t abide by strict vegan guidelines, they are all vegetarian. By which we mean, those ingredients that are derived from animals, such as beeswax, do not result in the death of the animal.
